Welcome to Parkview

A very warm welcome to Parkview School

Our vision is to foster a passion for lifelong learning in every student. This is a values driven process which is centred around the values of relationships/whanaungatanga, belonging/manaakitanga, learning/ako and collaborating together/mahi tahi. We have a well resourced school with a wide range of exciting learning opportunities that will challenge and grow every student.

Our school website is intended to describe our community focussed school, what happens here, our hopes and expectations, and ways in which you can become involved in the life of our lovely school. I look forward to working together, so feel free to contact or come in and visit me, my door is always open to you.

Warm regards,
Simon Thomas

At Parkview School our values are....

Developing skills for life - We belong

We belong

We believe in the well-being of all students in safe, nurturing, culturally responsive environments. We value caring nurturing classrooms with whanau groups and culturally respectful relationships.

Our relationships

We believe in family-like, respectful relationships where we understand rights and responsibilities and have shared experiences. We value older teaching younger (tuakana teina relationships), knowing our learners personal interests, home life and culture.

Developing skills for life - We learn together

We learn together

We believe in learning from each other and that learning is interactive and connected to the world around us. We value student voice and student leadership for all, whole school events, trips and outdoor experiences.

Mahi Tahi

We believe in working collaboratively together for a specific goal and being good self-managers. We value our learners being self regulators and opportunities to work together, also a variety in learning tasks and opportunities for hands on learning.
