Kids for Kids Concert
Dear Parents/Caregivers
As a member of the Junior Choir your child has a fantastic opportunity to perform in the Kids for Kids concert for 2016. The show is titled ‘Slice of Heaven’ and features kiwi cultural icons Nathan King and Jackie Clarke. Kids for Kids celebrates over 20 years of bringing together kids choirs throughout New Zealand. Please take time to read the information enclosed regarding the show.
Concert and Rehearsal Date:
Monday 5th September Venue: Horncastle Arena, Christchurch
Rehearsal Time: The rehearsal takes place on Monday 5th September from 9am – 12.30pm, the same day as the concert. We will be travelling by bus to the venue leaving at 8.15 am from school. You will incur no cost for this. The choir will be off stage at 12.30pm and returning to school at approximately 1.30pm. Please ensure your child brings a packed lunch and a drink. I will also need 2 adults to help with supervision. If you are available to help please email me at nicola.clarke@parkview.school.nz or download and complete the attached form.
Evening Performance Arrival Time: Your child will need to be backstage by 6.45pm. Children will be led onstage around 7.10pm. Please note that you are responsible for transporting your child to and from the venue. I will be in the foyer at 6.30pm to meet children on arrival. Children are to wear bright coloured clothing. No coats or jackets are to be worn on stage as the lights are very hot.
Performance Time: The evening performance starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 9.20pm.
Purchasing Tickets: For more information and to purchase tickets please see the A5 flyer attached to this letter. Tickets are currently on sale. They do sell fast so make sure you purchase your tickets before the show to avoid disappointment. To purchase, please visit the website www.kidsforkids.org.nz and follow the ‘Buy Tickets link’. Please sign the permission slip below and indicate if your child will be singing at the evening concert. If your child is not able to sing in the evening concert please sign the permission slip anyway as they will be able to join us for the rehearsal.
